• Nigel was formerly the Principal Trumpet of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra 1975 - 1995.
• Member of Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama teaching Staff since 1978
• Director of Scottish Brass since 1976 Promoting Contemporary Scottish Repertoire
• Lifetime interest in Brass Bands firstly as a hobby and now as an occasional advisor
• Strong Links with West Lothian Council in association with their enviable educational programmes, and in particular with the West Lothian Schools Brass Band.
• Conductor and founder member of the Salon Orchestra (Scotland)
