Nigel Boddice MBE, Hon. A.R.A.M., has established and enjoys an impressive, enterprising and busy international conducting career.

For his musical input and work with the youth of Scotland Nigel has been awarded the MBE in the 2005 Queen’s Birthday Honours .

His renowned versatility have brought about a number of highlights which include live recordings and a Naxos CD with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, children's fun concerts with the Ulster Orchestra in Northern Ireland and a memorable tour with the Armenian '' Serenade '' Orchestra to the 2nd International Chamber Orchestra Festival in Yerevan.

Freelance orchestral direction  has recently included the Scottish Philharmonia's New Years Day Viennese concerts , a Berlioz centenary recording for the BBC, a Northern Periphery Festival of Scandinavian music, the Rehearsal Orchestra at the Edinburgh Festival and a Vivaldi Festival DVD in Norway.

His many educational experiences have formed a strong and  highly diverse repertoire, having made a professional commitment to many student orchestras of every combination for example at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, the Kelvin Ensemble, The University of Edinburgh and the Aberdeen International Youth Festival.

As well, Summer School symphony orchestras regularly visited include  Glasgow, Moray, the Highlands and Lochaber.

His own development was enhanced  in particular by the distinguished Scot Sir Alexander Gibson, the Polish Maestro Jerzy Macksymiuk and the revered composer Tom Wilson.

For his delivery of contemporary repertoire, he has been honoured by the Scottish Society of Composers having had a special presentation made in Glasgow by Christian Lindberg.

The last decade has seen great musical variety,  much travel and touring, many a Salon Orchestra concert often with personal presentations, a number of choral concerts which include the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union , the Molde School of Music Kor , the Aberdeen Festival Opera Gala, and the Norwegian Girls Choir and just for fun, taking on the occasional jazz concert.

Currently these days, Nigel enjoys and performs a valued role at the R.S.A.M.D. as a member of the conducting faculty.
